Overview
ZScaler is an zero trust network security product that WWCC is utilizing to better protect against the ever evolving cybersecurity landscape. It helps us to better protect student, faculty, and staff data against breach or disclosure to unauthorized parties.
Steps
On machines with ZScaler loaded, users must be authenticated to the product to access internet and internal resources. You will see ZScaler in the task bar by your clock with the icon circled below.
By double clicking or right clicking you have either and Autenticate or Authenticate Early option, you will be required to authenticate every 7 days to the application to maintain secure access to resources. You will be re-directed to our SSO page (https://sso.wwcc.edu) once you click on either Authentication option.
Once you have authenticated through the SSO page you will see the following screen. You are now authenticated and can access the authorized resources.
Troubleshooting
- If you have issues with authentication at the SSO page or receive an unauthorized to use application prompt please open a Team Dynamix ticket with a screen shot or copy of the verbiage from the authentication page.
- If you have a webpage that will not load or gives you errors due to ZScaler and the site is used for business need, please double click the ZScaler Icon in the task bar and go to the Internet Security tab on the left side and click the "Turn Off" link (image below), please provide a detailed description of why you disabled it and attempt to access the resource again. If you are able to access it at that time, we ask that you open a Team Dynamix ticket with details about the website being accessed and the time you attempted to access it but were blocked by ZScaler so we can build appropriate access policies to allow it in the future.
