This article will go over a brief walk through of using the Canon Secure Print feature on the Canon Multi-Function Copiers.
Begin within the applications print dialog prompt, and select the Printer Properties option. If the Printer Properties option is not available through the applications print dialog, you may need to look through advanced or additional settings to find either the system print dialog or Windows print dialog options.
Here you can change any other print options (page settings, finishing options, etc) as well as the Output Method to the device. Use the drop down menu on this option to select Secured Print.
Once Secured Print is selected, the below information box should automatically pop up allowing you to set a unique User Name and/or security PIN. The User Name field is not required and you can use only a PIN number to release the job at the device.
You may now click OK to confirm all settings and close the print dialog windows. Print the Job on the main window to submit the job to the devices queue.
If the dialogue box does not appear after selecting the Secured Print settings, you should receive a prompt to edit the job name, username and pin code after clicking on the final print button.
Once you arrive at the Canon copier, navigate to the Print option on the device home screen.
You will then be able to select your print job from the Secure Print job queue and enter your User Name and/or PIN numbers to start printing the job.
